About Me

Booking my dentist by smartphone app

I love that my family dentist is tech-savvy. It's so easy to book a dentist on his smartphone app if I have a tooth problem or if anyone in my family needs emergency problems (I can choose either my normal dentist or another dentist in his practise depending on availability). He also has some great cameras so that we can see exactly what is going on during treatment. I prefer not to see this, but my kids love to be able to see the dentist using his specialised tools to clean and repair their teeth. This blog has some tips on finding a tech-savvy dentist to help give your family the best possible dental care.

Knowing When Orthodontic Treatment Is Necessary

Teeth and jaws that are incorrectly positioned can lead to many mouth complications. Such teeth are more likely to suffer from tooth decay, stress on chewing muscles, headaches, and periodontal disease. Crooked teeth can also lead to complications such as neck and back pain as a result of the extra stress that is placed on the teeth. An orthodontist is a type of dentist that corrects improperly positioned teeth and jaws.

Can I Get My Cavities Filled During a Course of Invisalign?

The average course of Invisalign treatment is generally about 12 months. This is more than enough time for a cavity to develop. When a cavity develops during a course of Invisalign, if it is minor and you only have a short time left before you complete your treatment, it might be better to wait before having the cavity treated. However, if you still have at least a few months to go with your Invisalign treatment, you should probably get your cavity filled before it worsens.

Regular Dental Check-Ups: A Necessity or a Mere Triviality?

Some adults fail to see a dentist for regular check-ups because they suffer from dental anxiety and fear while others do not go for these check-ups simply because they think it is unimportant and costly. A general lack of awareness of the importance of regular dental visits is usually the main reason why the latter group of dental patients don't see the dentist for regular check-ups. For that reason, it is important to keep educating everyone on the significance of making regular visits to the dental office or clinic in order to get a dental check-up.

Gingivitis or Cavities? How to Tell the Difference between Gingivitis Pain and Cavity Pain

Dental pain can at times be difficult to assess in terms of its location and cause. When the dental issue is less obvious, even dentists must perform a series of tests on teeth and gums before they can correctly identify the affected region. Because the trigemenal nerve, which is the largest nerve of the 12 cranial nerves, supplies sensation to the teeth and gums via three different but connected branches, pain is often referred.

    Natural Dental Help

Maintaining clean healthy teeth is something everyone should be able to do with minimal effort and cost. Yet far too many Australian adults fail to visit the dentist enough, and don't take their oral hygiene as seriously as they could. This can lead to more than just bad breath. Plaque, tartar, gingivitis and stained enamel are just some of the results of poor dental hygiene, which can harm an individual's self-confidence, lead to frequent pay-outs at the local dental clinic, and in extreme cases require a visit to an emergency dentist.

How to Prevent the Tooth Damage That Can Occur from Juicing

Juicing is big news these days, with lots of people substituting regular meals for juices due to their alleged health benefits. However, drinking juices every day could be wreaking havoc on your teeth and not just because of the sugar that is naturally present in fruit. Fruits and veggies also contain acid, and this acid can, over time, erode the precious enamel that protects your teeth. Also, the concentrated sugar in juices sticks to your teeth and makes its way into any crevices in your mouth, giving bacteria the chance to fester.

4 Types of People Who Should Strongly Consider Investing in a Water Flosser

Despite their name, water flossers shouldn't be considered a replacement for normal string floss since they aren't quite as effective at removing plaque from the surface of a tooth. However, water flossers can still be incredibly beneficial since their spray can help remove debris and keep your oral health strong. Anybody can benefit from using a water flosser, but there are some people who can find using them particularly advantageous.
