About Me

Booking my dentist by smartphone app

I love that my family dentist is tech-savvy. It's so easy to book a dentist on his smartphone app if I have a tooth problem or if anyone in my family needs emergency problems (I can choose either my normal dentist or another dentist in his practise depending on availability). He also has some great cameras so that we can see exactly what is going on during treatment. I prefer not to see this, but my kids love to be able to see the dentist using his specialised tools to clean and repair their teeth. This blog has some tips on finding a tech-savvy dentist to help give your family the best possible dental care.

Straighten your Teeth with Invisalign: What You Need to Know

by Jeff Rivera

Have you ever felt self-conscious about your crooked or misaligned teeth? It's not just about aesthetics, as misaligned teeth can also cause a misaligned bite and jaw pain. Fortunately, Invisalign is here to help. Invisalign is a discreet, comfortable and highly effective alternative to traditional metal braces. This blog post covers everything there is to know about Invisalign. It includes an in-depth look at how Invisalign works, its benefits and drawbacks, as well as what patients can expect during the treatment process.

How Does Invisalign Work?

Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that are custom-made for your teeth. The aligners gradually move your teeth into the desired position. The aligners are changed to ensure that your teeth move in the right direction.

Benefits of Invisalign

In comparison to traditional metal braces, Invisalign has several benefits. Firstly, Invisalign aligners are virtually invisible, which makes them a great option for adults who want to straighten their teeth without the noticeable appearance of traditional braces. Secondly, Invisalign aligners are removable, which means they can be taken out before eating, brushing and flossing. That means you don't have to worry about any diet restrictions or difficulty cleaning your teeth, which is often a problem with metal braces. Finally, Invisalign aligners are less painful than traditional braces and require fewer visits to the orthodontist, which makes them a convenient option for people with busy schedules.

Drawbacks of Invisalign

While Invisalign has many advantages, it also has some drawbacks to consider. Firstly, Invisalign aligners require strict discipline to use them effectively. Secondly, Invisalign aligners can cause discomfort and soreness during the first few days of use as your teeth adjust to the pressure. Finally, Invisalign might not be the best option for people with severe malocclusions or complicated orthodontic problems, as metal braces may offer better results.

What to Expect During Invisalign Treatment

The process of getting Invisalign starts with an initial consultation with an orthodontist who will determine if you are a good candidate for Invisalign. Once you have been approved, your orthodontist will take impressions and photos of your teeth to create a 3D model. Your custom-made aligners will be manufactured and will be given to you to wear. You will also have to schedule regular appointments with your orthodontist to monitor your progress and adjust your treatment plan as necessary.

Invisalign is the perfect option for anyone looking for an alternative to traditional metal braces. With its many benefits, Invisalign aligners are the best option for those seeking a more comfortable, convenient and discreet orthodontic treatment. While there are some drawbacks to consider, with commitment and discipline, Invisalign can provide a great result in correcting your misaligned teeth.
