About Me

Booking my dentist by smartphone app

I love that my family dentist is tech-savvy. It's so easy to book a dentist on his smartphone app if I have a tooth problem or if anyone in my family needs emergency problems (I can choose either my normal dentist or another dentist in his practise depending on availability). He also has some great cameras so that we can see exactly what is going on during treatment. I prefer not to see this, but my kids love to be able to see the dentist using his specialised tools to clean and repair their teeth. This blog has some tips on finding a tech-savvy dentist to help give your family the best possible dental care.

Importance of Having an Emergency Dentist

by Jeff Rivera

Often, dental problems come unannounced. In the event that you have been experiencing a minor toothache, you never know when the pain can get worse. Just when everyone is asleep, you may be rolling over in your bed in excruciating pain. It is such times that you need an emergency dentist. There are several reasons why these professionals are important to your life.

Relieve Pain

Some of the worst pain you can ever feel is through your teeth or jaws.  The pain can be so bad that you may wish you never had a mouth. When you get such unbearable pain, you are in an urgent need of a dentist. Emergency dentists are available to attend to your teeth problems anytime, ensuring that you no longer suffer from preventable pain.

Prevent Further Complications

Assuming one of your teeth starts aching just before midnight, and you feel that it is too late to see a dentist. The pain gets worse, but you plan to seek dental emergencies in the morning.  Unknown to you, you may be presenting yourself to more serious complications.  If you have recently undergone a dental procedure, this pain could be signaling developing complications which is why you should consider seeing an emergency dentist as soon as possible.

Some dental problems, if left for a long period without treatment, may have serious implications to the patient. For instance, if cavities are left untreated, the infection can spread to soft tissues of the mouth, pulp, or jaw. This may lead to dental abscess, which is often very painful. Development of abscess poses more risks. Abscess can cause bacterial endocarditis -- when bacteria from abscess reach the heart through blood vessels

Save a Friend, or Relative

You may visit a friend or relative and find them dealing with some dental problems. If you have contacts of an emergency dentist, you can save the friend or relative from more pain. This could also be a colleague at work.

Peace of Mind

An emergency dentist gives you a peace of mind that whenever you have a teeth problem that needs urgent attention, there is someone to look at it immediately.  Dental emergencies are especially important if you have a history of dental problems, or have a family member that is undergoing dental problems. You no longer have to get worried about your teeth aching at odd hours of the night. There is always someone to treat your teeth.
